New to First Baptist
Welcome to First Baptist Church of Mount Dora's website! See the exciting things God is doing in the life of our church. We hope your online experience will give you a picture of who we are, why we are here, and how you can connect. See you soon...
Whether you are new to First Mount Dora, new to our city, or just to church, we would love to have the opportunity to minister to you. At First Mount Dora, it's all about connecting - to God, to other people, and to service. We invite you to explore our website and plan a visit to our campus. We would love to meet you and worship with you as together we seek to grow in service through our love for Christ.
We have plenty of regular and handicap parking around our campus. If you are a newcomer or a visitor, we have special parking posted and would love for you to use these spaces. We also have a huge overflow lot located adjacent to the church across 1st Ave.
When you arrive on our campus we encourage you to visit the Welcome Center where we will guide you to a "Real" Life Group Sunday School class. We have greeters located at the Worship Center doors who will welcome you with smiles and direct you to the Welcome Center.
Nursery and Child Care:
Families with infants and children are welcomed in our services; however, we do provide extended care for infants through pre-k during in our Preschool Building during the services. Pagers are provided for parents should your child need you during the services. The Nursery and Pre-School building is located in the center of our campus beside the Worship Center. The Grade School building is located behind the Nursery and Pre-School building. We divide all children, birth to grade school, in age appropriate classes that provide a safe and nurturing environment. All nursery and child care workers have had background checks.
Visit with Pastor:
Our Senior Pastor, Dr. Thomas Jamieson, would love to meet with you and personally welcome you to our church. After each service, Pastor Jamieson will be in the visitor's room where you can visit with him. The visitor's room is located across from the Welcome Center.
How to Join Our Church:
At the conclusion of the service, there will be an invitation given during which time you are invited to come forward and speak with one of our pastors. You can join the church in one of the following ways:
• By your profession of faith in Jesus Christ
• By request for Baptism
• By transfer of letter from another like faith & order church
We have regularly scheduled Discovery classes for those who have joined, and also for those who are inquiring about membership. If you are curious about First Baptist and want to find out more, learn what we believe, how we are structured, the purpose of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism and much more, then this is for you. The Discovery Class is free, lunch is provided and is required for church membership. Our pastor, Dr. Jamieson, teaches this class.
