We believe that music is a vital part of our worship here at First Baptist. It allows us to focus on God and His Word. It encourages everyone to corporately worship and exalt His name. We sing a variety of different styles of music so that everyone can participate. From old hymns to new choruses, everything we sing is an offering to the Lord. We have several ways to involve people in the music department.
Sanctuary Choir - We're always looking for committed people to help lead in worship. We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM in the choir room for rehearsal. The only requirement to join is to be faithful, and be willing to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Children's Choirs - As a part of our Kid's Club on Wednesday nights, we offer Children's Choir. Kid's Club begins at 6:00 PM and Children's Choir is one of the rotations during the evening. Our Children's Choir in the past has performed during Sunday night services and Wednesday night services, traveled to nursing homes and performed for the residents, and enjoyed Christmas caroling during the month of December.
PreSchool Choir - Meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM, for ages 3-5 years old. The little ones learn about rhythm, beat, and singing. Many of the songs they sing are also reinforced with hand and body movement. If you stay very long in that room, you'll wear yourself out trying to keep up with the children.
All of the music that is done in our choirs is Bible-based Soloists & Ensembles - For those who like to do solo work, or be involved in a smaller group to share in our worship services and teach the truths of God's Word and His love for us. Our prayer is that you will become involved in what God is doing in the music department here at First Baptist. Whether it is singing or playing an instrument, we hope you will use your talents for the Lord in this place!
