Job description

Job Purpose:

To provide support in the maintenance of the church facility and setup and tear down before and after activities and events.

  • When urgent situations arise, your first priority is to the person involved. Identify the degree of urgency; then refer or take a message for one of the pastoral staff members.
  • Become familiar with the policies and procedures of the church.

General Job Responsibilities:

  • Be present on days and at times assigned and agreed to.
  • Assist with maintaining the functionality and cleanliness of the church facilities.
  • Assist with setting up – especially including tables and chairs – for regular ministry activities at the church.
  • Assist with setting up for special events and activities at the church.
  • Support the work of the Facilities Director.
  • Make the Facilities Director aware of any maintenance needs. observed.

Weekly Job Responsibilities:

  • If assigned to work on Sunday mornings, ensure the grounds are clean and ready to welcome the congregation to worship at First Baptist Church Mount Dora.
  • Assist with unlocking and locking doors if assigned.

Monthly Job Responsibilities:

N/A

Miscellaneous:

  • Support Pastoral staff as needed.
  • Be an awesome team player.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Some high school education minimum; completion of high school preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in a facilities role preferred but not required

Preferred Skills:

  • Some proficiency in a trade; could include electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning
  • Proficiency not required; will train

Additional Notes:

This position reports directly to the Facilities Director.
